Jeff is president and chief engineer at Opsys, holding a mechanical engineering degree from Northeastern University, and a M.S. in engineering from Clarkson University. Jeff draws on over 20 years of expertise as a business leader and engineer, with technical specialties ranging from pneumatic control systems to robotics programming. Given his passion in minimally invasive medical devices, he is a named inventor on more than 15 patents and patent applications related to minimally invasive medical devices and pneumatic control systems, many of which have been licensed by industry leaders.

Chris focused primarily on aeronautical engineering while earning his engineering degree from Purdue University. He later obtained his J.D. from Indiana University School of Law, while working full-time at the Indiana Senate as a senate staffer and speech writer. Chris has worked in the medical device field for over ten years. At Opsys, Chris specializes in engineering, regulatory matters, grant writing, and product development. Chris is also a named inventor on a number of patent applications.

Mike earned his B.S. in accounting and finance at Purdue University and his MBA at the Indiana University Kelley School of Business, with majors in general management and new venture and business development. He is a CPA and has owned a number of businesses and managed the controllership in others. In 2003, he was named the vice-president and chief financial officer of Indiana Limestone Company, Inc. Among other roles at Opsys, Mike provides guidance on funding, financial, and grant process procedures.

Dr. Burney has practiced as a radiologist and minimally invasive surgeon for over thirty years. As one of the pioneering doctors involved in vacuum-assisted breast biopsies, Dr. Burney brings a wealth of relevant experience and ideas to the Opsys team. A seasoned inventor with numerous patents to his credit, Dr. Burney assists Opsys in identifying medical device needs and proposing solutions.

Dave assists Opsys with strategic direction and business development. He began his career by founding and directing the VISIONS Lab at Purdue University in 1995, where he developed hardware and software solutions for visually impaired students. In 2000 he co-founded gh, LLC, and as Chief Executive Officer has grown gh into a multi-million-dollar assistive technology company. Dave’s various academic degrees and skill sets include physical chemistry, mathematics, and special education.
